Please note that we highly recommend reaching out and working with a Service Fusion employee when doing this for the first time.
There are times when you will want to use our ability to create labels that they can print out to put on different items that can be scanned.
When you navigate to My Office > Product Catalog you will be presented with a button in the top right hand corner to "Print Barcodes." There is a drop down option as well that will allow you to select UPC Barcodes, SKU Barcodes or a combination of UPC and SKU Barcodes.
When these options are selected, you are presented with a pop up that will show barcodes, but they are not in a printable format that would allow you to just select print and have it print out evenly on labels.
The best way to get these in a format that is printable using a standard printer and label sheets is the use of the free software called Avery Online Design. Using the website https://www.avery.com/software/design-and-print/ and signing up for a free account is the best way to accomplish this.
In Service Fusion you will want to navigate to My Office > Product Catalog and select to export the product catalog. Once we have the Excel sheet we will next need to remove any columns of information that will not be included on the barcode as the Avery Online Design tool will only allow spreadsheets that are less than 3000 rows or 20 columns. Please note that if they have more than 3000 products you can save 3000 for each file and just create multiple spreadsheets. Once you have the spreadsheet saved meeting the limitations we can then begin the process in Avery.
Once you have created a free account you will want to hover over Templates in the top bar and select Find a Template
This will bring you to a page where you select the labels that best fit the needs for what they are wanting to print out. Generally the best option will be the "Rectangular Labels" section.
From this page you can search for the exact label dimensions you are wanting to print. The 5162 template is one of the most readily available label templates that they offer that fits the majority of our customers needs , but you can choose a different templates based on the size/dimensions you are looking for.
Once you have chosen the label template you will want to select the option to "Start Designing"
You will then want to select the first option as this is what the majority of our customers will be looking for.
You will then be presented with the "customize" part of the step and will want to select the "Import Data" option presented on the left hand side of the page.
This is where we will choose to start the import and select the spreadsheet from your Product Catalog export we created in the earlier steps.
Once the spreadsheet has been selected you will want to choose the columns of information that you would like to be able to add to the barcodes.
In the next tab "Arrange Fields" you will click and drag the fields of information to the box on the right indicating that this is the information you are wanting to add to the labels and then select the "Next" button.
Then on the last page of the pop up window you will want to select finish.
This will be our first "Layer" and can use the "Text" option on the left hand side of the screen to help arrange our fields the way we want them to print on the labels. Please note that the "Navigator" panel on the right hand side of the screen allows you to do this edit for all labels at once and also provides us with a preview of what would be printed.
Using the "Text" option you can move the added fields around and choose to justify them to the desired positions or change text size or general formatting.
Once the chosen fields are set to the desired positioning, we will then want to choose the QR and Barcodes tab on the left side of the page and within the tab choose the "Add QR/Barcode" option. Within the pop up we will want narrow down our column selection to just SKU or UPC depending on the field in Service Fusion that they are wanting to create the barcodes for and then select next.
On the last tab of the pop up called "Create Barcodes" we can then just drag over the SKU or UPC field to the "Enter alphanumeric and special characters" field and then select Finished.
This will then be added as a second layer on the design and can use the customize step to arrange the fields in the label space the way you are wanting them to print.
Once you have it set up the way you are wanting will then need to select the last step and do the Preview and Print. This will provide what the sheet will look like when printed allowing you to go back and resize anything or move around on the label until you find the best design for your needs.
It will look like they want you to then reach out to Avery to print these, but you will want to choose the "Get PDF to Print" button which will download a PDF that you can then choose to print through your normal printer using the Avery labels you have designed this around.
This will the bring up a pop up where you can open the PDF, but would be a better idea to download the PDF so you have it for future use.
Now all that is left, is opening and choosing to print the PDF.
