Important Information:
- The job number sequence is initially configured within Company Preferences
- The job number sequence only considers integer values
- The system will always continue numbering sequentially from the highest existing job number
- Manually adjust the job numbering sequence to continue with a unique set of numbers
- If higher‑numbered jobs exist, they must be renumbered or adjusted before using a lower sequence
- Alpha numeric character combinations can be used, and, if used, will remove the job number from the sequence
- Job number sequencing includes numbers from deleted jobs
- Once all of the larger job numbers have been updated, update the most recent job number to the desired sequence
- Estimates, jobs and invoices can each have their own unique numbering sequences
Setting the Initial Job Number Sequence (No Existing Jobs):
- Navigate to My Office
- Select Company Preferences
- Locate Set Own Estimate & Job Number Sequence
- Enable the setting
- Enter the desired starting job number
- Save Changes
This sets the initial sequence for all future jobs.
Resetting the Job Number Sequence (Existing Jobs):
If jobs already exist, the sequence must be reset by editing the most recent job number.
- Open the most recent job in View or Edit mode
- Click the job number
- Enter the new starting number

- Click the blue check‑mark to save the change
Verifying the Updated Sequence:
- Create a new job
- Confirm the job number increments from the updated value
- Verify the format matches the intended numbering range
Adjusting Higher Existing Job Numbers:
If jobs exist with higher numbers than your desired range:
- Renumber those jobs to a lower value
- Or add a letter to the job number to preserve uniqueness
The system will always increment based on the highest existing job number, including deleted jobs.
