Reopening a Closed Job into an Open Job Category

- Back Office users correcting job status assignments
- Admins managing job workflow transitions
Important Information:
- Jobs in a "Closed" category cannot be directly reassigned to an "Open" category
- A temporary status must be created to facilitate the transition
- Technicians should not be able to see or assign the temporary "Reopen" status
Strategic Workflow:
- Enables correction of prematurely closed jobs
- Maintains control over technician visibility and assignment permissions
- Supports accurate job tracking and workflow continuity
Process Description:
- Create a temporary "Reopen" status in a closed category
- Assign the "Reopen" status to the job
- Change the category of the "Reopen" status to an open category
- Reassign the job to the desired open status
Creating a "Reopen" Job Status:
- Go to My Office > Estimate & Job Statuses
- Click +Add New
- Status Category: Select the Closed Jobs category
- Name: Reopen
- Is Active: set to YES
- Field Workers Can See Jobs in This Status: NO
- Click Save
Assigning the "Reopen" Status to the Job:
- If the job is currently open, make sure to refresh the browser window
- Click Edit or click on the job status of the job that is currently in the closed status category
- Update the "Job Status" to Reopen
- Click Save Job
Changing the "Reopen" Job Status Category:
- Return to My Office > Estimate & Job Statuses
- Locate the Reopen status
- Click the pencil icon to edit the job status
- Change the "Status Category" to Open Jobs That Are In Progress
- Click Save
Reassigning the Job to an Open Status:
- Go back to the job
- Refresh the browser window
- Click Edit
- Change the "Job Status" to the desired open status (e.g., On The Way, Started)
- Click Save
Inactivating or Deleting the "Reopen" Status:
- Go to My Office > Estimate & Job Statuses
- Locate the Reopen status
- Click the pencil icon to edit the job status
- Update the "Is Active" to NO or select the x to delete the Reopen status
