Important Information:
- The copy feature creates a duplicate of the job
- The status may vary and will be based upon the attributes of the original job
- Upon creation the copied job will look at specifically the following attributes on the original job:
- If the Date is present and no technician is assigned, it will automatically assign the "Scheduled" status
- If there is one or more Assigned Technician(s) and no date present, it will automatically assign the "Unscheduled" status
- If both the Date and Assigned Technician are present, it will automatically assign the "Dispatched" status
- Upon creation the copied job will look at specifically the following attributes on the original job:
- The status may vary and will be based upon the attributes of the original job
- All job details, notes, uploaded photos, and documents are retained in the copied job
- If an invoice is present on the original job, an invoice will not be created upon the copying action
Strategic Workflow:
- Update specific job details of the copied job, if applicable:
- Modify Job Description
- Change Status
- Update Date
- Re-assigned or un-assign technician(s)
- Edit Completion Notes
- Remove or adjust copied product and service pricing
- Remove copied drive and labor times
Common Scenarios:
- Scheduling similar jobs
- Creating future jobs without re-entering all details
- Jobs with minor address changes (e.g., unit or suite number)
- Scheduling repeat work outside standard repeating job settings
Process Description:
- Navigate to the view job screen
- Select the More menu on the right-hand side
- Click Copy (last option in the menu)
- The new job will be created on the same page
- Update details as needed (Customer, Date, Assigned Tech)
- Review the activity log to confirm the job was created via the Copy feature
Accessing the Job:
- Go to the view job screen for the job you want to duplicate
Using the Copy Feature:
- Click the More menu on the right-hand side
- Select Copy (last option in the menu)
Updating the New Job:
- The copied job will appear on the same page, you will see that the job number changes
- Edit and update any of the details within the job
Confirming Creation:
- Check the "Activity Log" to verify the job was created using the Copy feature
Example:
If a customer scheduled work in early June and wants the same work done in mid-August, copy the June job, update the date and technician, and save time by avoiding re-entry of all original details.
