Best Suited for:
- Administrators managing customer records
- Users cleaning up inactive or unused customer accounts
Important Information:
- Customers with historical data (e.g., estimates, jobs, invoices) cannot be deleted
- Instead, such customers should be marked as Inactive
- Customers without historical data can be deleted
- A password prompt may be required before deletion, depending on Company Preferences
- Deleted customers cannot be restored
Strategic Workflow:
- Identify customers eligible for deletion
- Use inactive status for customers with historical records
- Apply batch deletion after confirming eligibility
Process Description:
- Navigate to the Customer List
- Select customers without historical data
- Initiate the batch delete action
- Enter a password if required
- Confirm deletion in the final prompt
Accessing the Customer List:
- Navigate to Customers
- Select Customer List
Selecting Customers for Deletion:
- Identify customers that do not have historical data
- Select customers using one of the following methods:
- Check the box next to each customer
- Select multiple customers by checking additional rows
- Check the box in the top header row to select all the customers on the current page
- Check the box next to Batch Edit Selected to select all customers
- Attempting to delete customers with historical data will result in an error
- For customers with historical data, update their status to Inactive instead
Deleting Selected Customers:
- Once customers are selected, click the Delete selected button
- If password protection is enabled:
- Enter your system login password
- This setting is managed in My Office > Company Preferences
- Review the final confirmation prompt
- Confirm that you want to delete the selected customers
Once confirmed, the selected customers are permanently deleted, there is not a way to undo this action.
