Of the four SMS applets available, the Menu applet borrows the ideology behind the Send a Reply applet, but allows for multiple responses, instead of just one response.
You may choose as many or as few menu options as desired, but the applet will start with four, by default. Use the Plus and Minus buttons (+ and -) to add or remove menu options as needed.
In the above example, the last menu option has been intentionally left blank, to provide a visual reference.
When a text message is sent to the Servicecall.AI number, the texter will receive a response, which will invite them to reply with keywords, and the keyword received will determine the next response.
The initial response for this menu is:
Thanks for texting ABC Company! For hours, reply HOURS. For our address, reply ADDRESS. For our website and general email address, reply WEBSITE. This inbox is automated, please use only these listed keywords.
IMPORTANT: Text messages sent in will not go to the SMS Inbox, so users will not see if someone has texted in when using this applet. It is a good idea, though certainly not necessary, to let your customers know this is an automated text message interaction.
IMPORTANT: If a texter responds to the menu prompt with a keyword, or a phrase, that is NOT listed, the menu options will send again. Keywords are not case sensitive, so although the menu suggests "WEBSITE" be replied, if a texter sends in "website", they'll still receive the appropriate response.
In this example, these keywords will respond with the following replies:
- HOURS will respond with "ABC Company is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. We are closed on weekends."
- ADDRESS will respond with: "ABC Company is located at 123 Main Street, Anytown, Anystate 90210"
- WEBSITE will respond with: "ABC Company can be found online at abc-company.com. Our general care email is hello@abc-company.com"
