Service Fusion is excited to announce our Fleet Tracking 2.0 feature! This includes the introduction of the Fleet Dashboard, and a new look and added features to the Fleet Map! This guide will cover the Dashboard. Keep reading to learn about the Fleet Tracking Dashboard.
To navigate to the new Fleet Dashboard, you can select the link from the top of the Dispatch Grid.
Alternatively you can hover over Dispatch on the navigational bar at the top of the screen, and select Fleet Dashboard.
Once on the Fleet Dashboard, select Settings at the top right. Here, you can configure some key preferences that will affect your data.
Upon clicking Settings, a window overlay will appear.
Week Start Day: This allows you to select what day of the week your work-week starts on; some companies start their weeks on Sunday, some Monday, and others still on other days. No matter what day your work week starts, you can select it here.
Speeding Threshold: By default, Service Fusion selects 70 mph as the threshold that, if exceeded, a "Speeding" Event is created under the Driving Behavioral Alerts section. You may change this based on your insurance needs, safety preferences, or local area. In Dallas, for example, some speed limits on the tollways are 75mph, so an 80mph threshold might make sense. In more rural areas that are mostly county roads that are typically 50mph, a 55 or 60 mph threshold might make more sense than, say, 70.
It is important to note that this is a broad threshold right now and is not dependent on area speed limit laws. If your speeding threshold is set to 70mph, you will not be alerted if your driver is doing 60mph in a 30mph zone. Area based posted speed limit thresholds are coming in a future update.
Business Hours: Business hours will dictate when driving events are considered "unauthorized". Unauthorized driving events are calculated based on the vehicle moving outside business hours. After hours work and emergency service work (HVAC, water damage, roof tarping/board-ups, etc) would fall into the unauthorized driving event, so it may be normal to have some events. This metric will allow you some insight into that, such as seeing a technician moving when he did not have after hours work.
After you've configured your above preferences, click save.
The next section allows the user to adjust the currently visible date and time. This is different from the default mentioned above; the Fleet Dashboard will always load on the default, but sometimes you might wish to check another time period and compare with today's or this week's metrics. Simply click the drop-down menus and adjust as necessary, then click Apply on the right. Note: clicking Apply on the Custom Date range does not apply it to the Dashboard, you'll still need to click the grey Apply button to the right of the time range.
Drive Time vs Idle Time: Idle time is calculated when the vehicle has the ignition ON but has not moved for two minutes. An "Excessive Idling" event is when the vehicle has the ignition ON but has not moved for fifteen minutes. This widget groups idling and excessive idling to create a drive time versus idle time ratio.
Total Distance Driven: This is the total distance driven in miles for the time frame selected at the top of the dashboard. Hovering over the points on the graph will give the date and exact mileage.
Driving Behavioral Alerts: Behaviors that may need to be addressed with drivers, such as speeding, harsh braking, harsh turning, rapid acceleration, and unauthorized use (vehicle movement outside business hours) are recorded here. If you have not yet set your Business Hours in the Settings at the top of the Fleet Dashboard, you will have a very high Unauthorized Use percentage.
The final statistics are per-technician: Average Distance Driven, Average Drive Time, Average Idle Time, and Average Speed.
Average Distance Driven: This shows the average distance driven per tech for the time frame selected at the top of the dashboard.
Average Drive Time: This shows the average drive time per tech for the time frame selected at the top of the dashboard.
Average Idle Time: This shows the average idle time per tech for the time frame selected at the top of the dashboard.
Average Speed: This shows the average speed per tech for the time frame selected at the top of the dashboard.
The Fleet Tracking features are only compatible with GPS units sold by Service Fusion. These GPS units are mounted into vehicles and report in near-real time.
For ordering GPS units, that can be done by clicking on Order Units here and it will bring up a form to order GPS units. If you are unable to order GPS units through the Fleet Dashboard, please Contact Service Fusion Support and we would be happy to assist!
