What are the advantages of using Service Fusion Flat Rate, powered by Profit Rhino, over other FSMs?
- We are the most economical Flat Rate option at $149. The next price you can get with any other FSM is $189 and you must pay per seat.
How fast can I get my profit rhino price book and be up and running in SF?
- Within a few days or less.
What is the cost of adding the flat rate integration?
- $149
Is there a contract for flat rate?
- No, you are able to cancel anytime.
Is there an additional fee to set up this integration in Service Fusion?
- There is no additional fee or onboarding cost.
What if I only use certain manufacturer parts?
- Over 50 OEM brands and numerous generics are listed. With the many number of parts in the database, we likely have the part needed unless it is a less used part, which can be added.
What if tasks or part pricing looks too high or too low in my book, who can that be updated?
- You can update the prices yourself or contact us to adjust the prices by brand. Remember, quarterly new pricing is pushed to the app. There is a high probability you will already pay less for the part than our list price which is based on a national average. Also, if needed you will be able to work with one of our Profit Rhino account representatives and they can help you dial in your pricing.
What if the task I need is not in the price book?
- Tasks can be added on the fly in the app, or a request can be sent from within the app to have the part added for the next quarterly update. If you're in the field, you can use a grid matrix to calculate a flat rate price based on your estimated labor and parts costs.
Where do the labor times and part pricing come from?
- Over 34 years of data has been collected from 10s of thousands of service calls run to determine the average labor time for a less than average experienced technician. These times are adjusted as more data is acquired.
Where do you get pricing from?
- Part pricing is obtained from major equipment manufacturers and many other distributors across the US.
How often is the book updated?
- The flat rate system is continually being adjusted but updates are only pushed quarterly to users.
Is there a plan to include other industries other than shown?
- Other industries can be included. If you are interested in helping us build flat rate for another industry, please reach out to our Sr. Director of Content and Training at jlowe@servicefusion.com.
How do I find our breakeven/bill out rates?
- Breakeven is calculated by knowing your billable hour efficiency, average rate of burdened labor expense, correctly departmentalized revenue and allocated departmental overhead and performing various calculations. The best way to determine your breakeven is by attending a Pricing for Profit class, hosted by our St. Director of Content and Training, Jeremy Lowe, where you work with your financials to determine each department's breakeven labor rate and profitable selling rate. Email jlowe@servicefusion.com for more details regarding Pricing for Profit.
Can I add my own parts/tasks?
- Yes
Will customers see what we’re charging for parts and labor?
- No, everything is condensed down into a single flat rate line item.
How is sales tax handled?
- You will handle sales tax within Service Fusion. You can select the specific tax rate you would like to use per line item on the rate table. With flat rate line items, you do have the option to tax and labor and parts separately.
Does price increases come automatically or do we have to go through the whole book and update prices manually.
- The price updates are pushed automatically every quarter. You are alerted to the update and can choose to accept the whole update or just parts.
Do we have to input our own pricing?
- Not unless you are building a set of custom tasks. The only thing needed is your hourly labor rate, helper labor rate (if you charge for one) and your parts markup. The application does all the math for you.
Can the technician customize price on site?
- Yes, very easily, but this can be restricted by the integration settings if needed.
Does the flat rate guide initially come with a national average or recommended pricing?
- The national average is based on the national labor times and parts costs. You will decide the labor rate and part markups, which then becomes your recommended selling price.
Will all options show on my techs tablet even though we are only plumbing?
- You can select the trades, categories, brands, and tasks that appear in the technician’s catalogs.
Is flat rate appropriate for projects that require multiple days?
- Typically, you calculate these projects by time and material but present the price to the customer as a not to exceed price or a contracted lump sum price.
Are we able to adjust markup on materials across the board by percentage or do we need to individually adjust material markup?
- You can do either, but with automatic parts price updates your need to do this will be rare.
We sell automotive equipment, so none of our items would be in there. Can we fully customize your own flat rates? We currently do them as service items.
- Yes, and your parts can be imported if provided to us in an excel spreadsheet.
Will flat rate work for Canadian customers?
- Yes, we have Canadian customers, but care must be taken to globally adjust parts pricing for the difference in currencies and for the multi-providence tax rates if applicable.
Is there a way to upload a bulk price update for all parts?
- Yes, your parts can be imported if provided to us in an excel spreadsheet.
Is there going to be a “good, better, best” options on the app? For repairs and replacements?
- You can set up good, better, best options by using the estimate options feature in Service Fusion. If there are certain options you present often, you can set up an estimate template with those estimate options premade, so you don’t have to make them every time.
Is this a way to also make a “kit” out of multiple parts needed for a common product we sell? Or is this for labor only?
- You can build your own tasks with multiple parts and no labor or with labor.
I built services inside service fusion just like flat rate. What would be the advantage to running flat rate instead?
- When using Service Fusion Flat Rate, powered by Profit Rhino, you no longer have to worry about keeping your parts pricing up to date. Pricing is handled for you with quarterly updates. Also, all the tasks created by Profit Rhino are backed by years of industry data and field work experience.
